69Richard Aubrey April 15, 2013 at 9:29 pm Stickwick. Times have changed. I was in college in the mid Sixties. Women like you could write their own tickets. At a fraternity reunion about ten years ago of the classes of that era, I found about eighty percent of the guys married to the women they’d gone with in college. And they were still hot. The out-there hot types could screw practically anybody, but that’s where it went for them. Period. In fact, if you’re in class with a woman, the dress and makeup–either way–are irrelevant. Good looks can’t hide except with a burka, I suppose. And even then she has to walk…. Maybe guys are dumber now than they used to be. Never thought of that. Susan?

I’m not so sure that it’s so much flying under the radar as avoiding the PUA and hookup world. STEM requires a 100% commitment if you want to survive. It’s just that the payoffs can be tremendous, both financial and in satisfaction. Been there, did that…and am getting ready for an encore.

71OffTheCuff? April 15, 2013 at 9:33 pm Stick: “This was my experience in high school and most of university. I had a pretty face, long blonde hair, and a killer athletic bod. But I was a STEM nerd, didn’t party, dressed conservatively, and acted conservatively (i.e. would not put out). Result? Almost universally ignored by the males on campus, even the “nice guys.””

Duh, you were out of our league. We didn’t date until our senior year.

72Butter Naan April 15, 2013 at 9:33 pm I just ventured over to Roissy’s Twitter account. He tweeted this;

Some men say, “But I’m not naturally dominant! What do I do?” Good news! Find yourself a chubby, plain girl. Problem solved. —————

Can anyone here decipher this for me? I don’t get it.

73Susan Walsh April 15, 2013 at 9:36 pm Lots of readers emailed me today about the Boston bombings. I appreciate all the good wishes and thoughtful inquiries. I had a brief period of panic this afternoon, until I heard from my kids, all my friends and loved ones, but I know now that I will not be grieving. My heart goes out to those who are.
